It has been said, many times and many ways. But, hear now, Swans amidst Humanity, as the Tapestry of Religion is Woven from the many Prophet’s threads!
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
-----
And you shall note that it is an imperative command. Please take heed, oh wise ones, because this command reaches to all your neighbors, friends, strangers – even the whole of humanity. I give you a stronger commandment, then, that you may become even more holy: You shall love all beings even as though your own self dwelt within them!
1. Judaism and Christianity. Bible, Leviticus 19.18
Whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them.
-----
And the opposite is likewise true. Speak kindly then, and speak truthfully – for no love is there with the hypocrite! I tell you truly, this is my command unto you: Serve mankind with a joyous love, as though ye had the same Eternal Parent and were destined to Learn to Create Love! Selah!!!
2. Christianity. Bible, Matthew 7.12
Not one of you is a believer until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.
-----
Yes! Ye cannot say that you are a believing person whilst you show no compassion for the one who is before you. If you believe in God the Immanent and His Heavenly Kingdom, Presently at Hand – give ear, and so not discord, yeah, but do a goodly work unto humanity that the Spirit of Elohim, the Wholly Good may make ITS Works known thru you – for you are like a Vessel crossing an Ocean, and upon that Vessel is a Container, and within the Container is a White Stone, and it is called THE PEARL OF TRUTH SEATED WITHIN YOUR OWN HEART. Let the thoughtful ponder now…
3. Islam. Forty Hadith of an-Nawawi 13
A man should wander about treating all creatures as he himself would be treated.
-----
This is a high teaching; blessed are you when you follow – for you shall see the Kingdom spread out upon Earth! Do love your creature with a real love, and shun wickedness in their slaughter and treatment – for this is an Eternal Law, the Life-Law of Love – so obey, if you have any sense of what is really good for you!
4. Jainism. Sutrakritanga 1.11.33
Try your best to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself, and you will find that this is the shortest way to benevolence.
-----
Reach benevolence, that you may give and receive thereof. Do your best, nay, your bestest-best, and strive with a Super-Profound Striving – thus, fulfill this Prophet’s Command: Love them and show benevolence to all mankind and Earth’s creatures. Selah.
5. Confucianism. Mencius VII.A.4
One should not behave towards others in a way which is disagreeable to oneself. This is the essence of morality. All other activities are due to selfish desire.
-----
I tell you truly: Do not kill or harm – for you do not wish it upon yourself. Do not be mean or unkind – for you do not seek such treatment. Do not do what you hate – for you are Learning to Judge the Good from the Bad – so turn away from the selfish, which must cause pain for others (and one’s self), and seek that which is called A PURE OUTPOURING OF LOVE FROM THE CENTER OF THE HEART!~
Give ear!!!
6. Hinduism. Mahabharata, Anusasana Parva 113.8
Tsekung asked, "Is there one word that can serve as a principle of conduct for life?" Confucius replied, "It is the word shu--reciprocity: Do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you."
-----
The monad, a circle with a single point, a symbol of life and its circular nature – bringing back what has been sent out whereas the point is the decider of what is ‘sent out’ – so take heed, wise one, and do make a conscious effort to maintain a certainty of goodness and benevolence and kindness flowing out from you, that you may receive likewise. And it is easy for you – do unto others in love, as ye would be loved. Cease from doing what you hate. Let it BE!
7. Confucianism. Analects 15.23
Comparing oneself to others in such terms as "Just as I am so are they, just as they are so am I," he should neither kill nor cause others to kill.
-----
I am like you – yet I have resolved to harm no being, not even an insect – let alone eating the corpses and parts of the slain. I will not accept it from others, because I know how meat is got – by killing. So I wish to put an end to this Cycle of Death by Slaughter for Food. As the Buddha says, so should you do. But I say unto you, unless you take up this cause: To not kill, nor cause to kill – behold, you will be among those Slain— and Allah is Merciful Reviver of the Dead, so perhaps He will bring you back among the living, that you may have life established with those who love peace and live accordingly!
8. Buddhism. Sutta Nipata 705
One going to take a pointed stick to pinch a baby bird should first try it on himself to feel how it hurts.
-----
One seeking to eat a “steak” (cow-flesh) – should first see how it feels to remove a “steak” from his own side. Woe to them, for they say, “But first we must kill it, then we shall eat it!” I say unto you, “It would be better if ye killed yourselves instead, if only you knew!”
Eat of the fruits of the trees, the leaves of the herbs and the grains of the fields, for ye have not the need to cause disharmony upon planet earth – poking baby birds, slaying baby cows, skinning young pigs and poisoning the mice!
9. African Traditional Religions. Yoruba Proverb (Nigeria)
One who you think should be hit is none else but you. One who you think should be governed is none else but you. One who you think should be tortured is none else but you. One who you think should be enslaved is none else but you. One who you think should be killed is none else but you. A sage is ingenuous and leads his life after comprehending the parity of the killed and the killer. Therefore, neither does he cause violence to others nor does he make others do so.
-----
Do not strike, for it is only Mercy that will dull your blow upon its return – follow what Jesus said and turn the other cheek – for the meek shall be blessed with the Kingdom, which is within you and all around you, and they shall See GOD – BEHOLD, A SIGN FOR THOSE WHO CARE!
Govern yourself and keep far from the evil of harm, flesh-eating, and violence. Torture not, nore keep enslaved, nor yet kill – whatsoever! Let your modes of AVOIDING KILLING be what makes you clever!
Cause no violence, sow much peace:
Soon you’ll find a sweet release.
10. Jainism. Acarangasutra 5.101-2
The Ariyan disciple thus reflects, Here am I, fond of my life, not wanting to die, fond of pleasure and averse from pain. Suppose someone should rob me of my life... it would not be a thing pleasing and delightful to me. If I, in my turn, should rob of his life one fond of his life, not wanting to die, one fond of pleasure and averse from pain, it would not be a thing pleasing or delightful to him. For a state that is not pleasant or delightful to me must also be to him also; and a state that is not pleasing or delightful to me, how could I inflict that upon another?
As a result of such reflection he himself abstains from taking the life of creatures and he encourages others so to abstain, and speaks in praise of so abstaining.
-----
Let it then be reiterated for those “of little dust”.
I give you LIFE-FLOW Scripture ‘cause HE says I must.
Here you are, fond of life – so why cause another to kill?
Is that any way to get your “meat”, which means to get your fill?
Shall I kill and eat thee, so you may have quicker recompense?
You who eat many animals in so-called Spiced Decadence~!
Nay, I shall let the beasts devour thee – for surely ye shall be prey,
who’s harmed the least of these creatures shall be one in the Day!
Don’t inflict pain on others since you don’t want if for yourself!
Take this Book of Life and read it from the Internal Book-Shelf!!!
I tell you, “I encourage you,” and with these words of life:
I say: “Please abstain from killing,” so you may end all strife!
11. Buddhism. Samyutta Nikaya v.353
A certain heathen came to Shammai and said to him, "Make me a proselyte, on condition that you teach me the whole Torah while I stand on one foot." Thereupon he repulsed him with the rod which was in his hand. When he went to Hillel, he said to him, "What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor: that is the whole Torah; all the rest of it is commentary; go and learn."
------
Come and learn: Do not what you hate, to any, for God made man and beast – HE is the FATHER OF CREATION. Sin not against your CREATOR – sowing destruction and death where HE hath placed LIFE! This is the Whole of the Torah – so read it, it hath been brought to all mankind in many ways – learn it, and do it, and you will learn by doing. Go now, LOVE!!!
12. Judaism. Talmud, Shabbat 31a
"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets."
-----
Learn the first and the second shall be easy. The great commandment shall bring about the second without fail. Love your God with all your heart and HE SHALL SHOW YOU THE TRUTH WHICH IS IN YOUR HEART: THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN BEFORE YOU AND WITHIN ARE ONE!!!
13. Christianity. Bible, Matthew 22.36-40
